Project SHINE

Expectations of Student Participants

As a student participant, we expect you to:

  • Attend Orientation/Training.
  • Complete the Project SHINE Pre-Survey at www.projectshine.org. 
    Arrive on time to coach every week at your site during your time slot for a total of 20 hours per semester.
  • Sign in every time you coach (other wise you will not receive credit for being there.)
  • Complete a Reflection Log after each coaching session (these are located in your ESOL classroom in the binder, at your SHINE Coordinator´ s office, and on-line at www.hamilton.edu/Levitt/SHINE/forms.html.)
  • Complete a Learner Information Form with EVERY learner you work with and place it in the ESOL classroom binder. After you´ve completed this form with your learner, write his or her name on the SHINE Learner list in the binder.
  • Contact your SHINE Coordinator AND your ESOL or Citizenship Instructor in advance if you are unable to attend a session, and coordinate a time to make up that session. (If you miss more than 2 sessions you will be required to meet with your SHINE Coordinator to discuss you absences.)
  • Complete all course work for Project SHINE. 
  • Complete the Project SHINE Post-Survey.
