Outreach ActivitiesThe ACC Field Studies Program is divided into three phases:
I. Pre-departure Preparation II. Intensive Language/Culture Training & Rural Field Experience III. Dissemination and Evaluation Outreach activities are an important aspect of the program's dissemination and evaluation phase. These activities reinforce several of the overarching goals of the ACC FS program: to strengthen students' commitment to global understanding and international education; and to help students develop self-awareness during and after an intensive field study in rural China. Upon returning from China, students create presentations about their field study experiences to share with their communities, local schools and other organizations. We encourage students to use their imaginations and incorporate their varied talents into the presentation. Students who do not immediately return to the U.S. after the program can write a report or article and submit it to a U.S. local newspaper or newsletter. Students who successfully complete this last requirement of the program receive Hamilton College academic credit. By engaging in outreach activities, ACC FS students are active participants in the development of cultural and linguistic understanding between the peoples of the U.S. and China. Listed below are the outreach activities led by students who participated in the ACC FS program in 2008. 2008 ACC Summer Field Studies Program
