Rotary International Fellowship


DESCRIPTION

Rotary fellowships are similar to Fulbrights. Winners study at foreign universities, with minor additional obligations (speaking at local schools, etc.) Interested students must apply directly through their home town Rotary clubs.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants MAY NOT be related to Rotary club members.

DURATION

Variable. Three, Six, Twelve, Twenty-four, or Thirty-six months.

DEADLINE

Vary, but typically in early spring. Note that the lag between application for the fellowship and receipt is about 18 months. It is probably wise to apply in the spring of the junior year. Contact with home town Rotary clubs can provide specific deadline information.

AMOUNT

Variable. Generous: could be up to $20,000 a year.

SELECTION PROCESS

Nominations at local (home town level). Awards at national level.

NOTE

Applications can be obtained through the Rotary International, One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Avenue, Evanston, IL, 60201-3698, but you MUST get in touch with your local Rotary club.
