Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship ProgramDESCRIPTIONThe Jack Kent Cooke Foundation will award 30 scholarships to college seniors or recent graduates to attend graduate program in fall 2008. These scholarships provide funding for tuition, living expenses, books and other required fees for the length of the graduate degree program up to six years. The Foundation supports young people of special intelligence, application, deportment, and character who have financial need and demonstrated excellence in academic endeavors and extracurricular activities.ELIGIBILITYNomination by Hamilton College is required. Hamilton may nominate up to two candidates.
SELECTION PROCESSSelection is based on the following: academic ability and achievement, unmet financial need, will to succeed, leadership and public service, critical-thinking ability, and appreciation for/participation in the arts and humanities. Note: Typical winners have a 3.75 GPA or above, and a combined family income of less than $70,000/year.
The amount and duration of awards vary by student, based on the cost of attendance and length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum available per student is $50,000 per year. Most awards are for fewer than six years and less than $50,000 per year. |
