CurriculumCourses comprising the regular terms have been organized especially for the Hamilton College Academic Year in Spain. They are taught by members of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid or by other authorities in the fields of letters, history and the arts. All classes are small, and in exceptional circumstances, a student may arrange to take a course independent of the Hamilton College program through permission of the director-in-residence. A number of courses at the Universidad San Pablo have also been available (see below). In addition, a number of business and social work internships are open to HCAYS participants. Students are encouraged to take courses that will complement and expand the current offerings at their home institutions. Each course (with the exception of Advanced Spanish Language, Section 2) meets three hours a week for lecture or discussion. All courses are taught entirely in Spanish. For full-year students there are two primary examination periods, one at the end of the first term and one in May at the end of the academic year. In addition, shorter examinations, papers and reports may be scheduled during the year. |
