About the Program

The dates for 2009 are; Participants arrive Friday 14 August and return on the 21st. Orientation begins the next day.

Adirondack Adventure is an eight-day program that begins before regular Hamilton College orientation. Approximately 240 incoming first-year students arrive at Hamilton early to participate in one of 27 trips into the Adirondacks, each guided by a team of two (or three, depending on the trip) highly trained student, staff, or faculty leaders.  Cost will be $420 and full financial aid is available.

Currently directed by Andrew Jillings, the program has been in place for 24 years and contributes greatly to students' community feeling at Hamilton. Students who participate in Adirondack Adventure often meet their best college friends on the trip. Even after the program ends, many trip groups get together regularly to share their memories of the trip and their ongoing Hamilton experience.
