On November 2, 2009, the Boston Alumni Association co-hosted a trivia night with their counterparts from Colgate University at the Bell in Hand Tavern located in downtown Boston. Nearly 100 alumni from both schools attended, all of whom were anxious for a chance at trivia glory. It was a matchup of mental prowess and superior grasp of extraneous knowledge, not to mention bragging rights for the college that emerged victorious!

Conversation with Will Reid '10November 13, 2009 This is the seventh installment in a series of interviews with Hamilton College student-athletes. Will Reid '10 is a men's cross country team captain and has earned multiple varsity letters not only in cross country, but indoor and outdoor track and field as well. Budding Filmmakers Focus on 24-Hour FestivalNovember 10, 2009 A Hamilton student trudges through the dark recesses of the night, video camera and tripod in hand. He and his friends are in the early stages of the sixth annual 24-Hour Film Festival, hosted by Hamilton’s Film Production Guild. They race across campus, routinely checking the time so as not to fall behind schedule. Each team of actors, producers, and directors has from midnight on Friday until midnight on Saturday to make a quality, entertaining five-minute film – which means they have little time to spare. Elizabeth Benjamin '09 Spent Summer with Safe PassageOctober 7, 2009 Elizabeth Benjamin graduated last spring with a degree in anthropology and Hispanic studies. While at Hamilton, she was a member of the national champion women's lacrosse team. This past summer, Elizabeth had the opportunity to combine her academic and extra-curricular interests by working with Safe Passage (Camino Seguro). Safe Passage is an organization based in Guatemala City, Guatemala that is devoted to assisting the poorest members of the community. Elizabeth spent two months with the organization as a classroom assistant, working with 5th and 2nd grade students and sharing her love of lacrosse. More ...

The gift will support an Environmental Endowment Fund. Alejandro Gentry '01 Awarded Bronze StarAlumni News & NotesApril 29, 2009 Alejandro Gentry '01 has been awarded the Bronze Star for his efforts with Operation Iraqi Freedom. The citation reads, "For exceptionally meritorious service as the operations advisor and fires and effects advisor while conducting combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Captain Gentry's actions contributed immeasurably to the success of building a free and Democratic nation for the citizens of Iraq, and to the efforts to win the global war on terrorism." Capt. Gentry was a history major, member of the Men's Swimming and Diving team, and an Annual Fund intern at Hamilton. More ...
Alumni Career Workshops Offer Advice for the Class of '09by Danielle Raulli '10April 6, 2009 In conjunction with Volunteer Weekend on the hill, a variety of industry-specific career workshops were sponsored by the Career Center and the Office of Alumni Relations on Saturday, April 4. Alumni panels were designed to answer career-related questions and give advice to candidates for graduation on various avenues to pursue while job-searching, especially during the current economic climate.
