Their mission is to bring alumni of color into active volunteer leadership roles in the Hamilton College Alumni Association which will, in turn, promote cross-cultural awareness and increased understanding of our alumni of color within the Association and the greater Hamilton community. The Regional Affairs Committee is comprised of the Chair and presidents of the Regional Alumni Associations and the regional GOLD chairs. Their mission is to engender life long affiliation of alumni with the College. The life of the mind connects alumni to the College?s tradition of academic excellence, and alumni education is their central task. Regional Associations will also provide alumni with regionally appropriate events placing an emphasis on alumni education which will support and strengthen alumni affiliation and, by doing so; advance the goals of the College. The Class Leadership Committee is comprised of all Class Presidents and all Class Agents. The committee deploys solutions that furthers class affiliation, disseminates information about the College and the class and supports the success of their respective class's Annual Fund. In the spring of every fourth year, the members oversee Reunion planning for their classes' five year Reunion cycle. The Nominations Committee is comprised of the Chair and thirteen committee members. The committee identifies alumni leaders and potential leaders, and alumni with special areas of expertise; and recruit alumni for service on the Council. The committee recommends, every three years, nominees for Council Chair, and annually one member from the Council to serve as one of the three members of the Executive Committee drawn from the general membership of the Council, for approval by the Council - and recommends, should a vacancy occur in any of these positions, a replacement, to be approved by the Council - and recommends annually nominee(s) for Alumni Trustee for approval by the Council, should a vacancy occur in any alumni trusteeship other than expiration of term of office, an interim replacement to serve until a replacement has been elected as provided in Article 9 of the Constitution - and recommends nominees to be approved by the Executive Committee for Chairs of Standing and Ad Hoc Committees, and recommend nominees to be approved by the Alumni Council for At-Large Members of the Council, as existing memberships expire and as new committees are formed.
The Alumni Council is governed by the officers who comprise the Executive Committee and the Secretary of the Alumni Association. The Executive Committee meets on the Friday preceding meetings of the Alumni Council. |
