Hamilton College Alumni Council

The Council is comprised of the Executive Committee, the class presidents and class agents who make up the Class Leadership Committee, members of the Multicultural Alumni Relations executive committee, Regional Presidents and members of the Nominations Committee. There are approximately 250 members of Hamilton's Alumni Council making it the most statistically representative body in NESCAC. The Alumni Council meets on campus twice a year; on the Saturday of Fallcoming and the Saturday of Volunteer Weekend.

Mission of the Alumni Council
To support the key needs of the College and its alumni by mobilizing the talent, expertise, time and financial resources of all alumni. To do this, the Council will 1) Lead all alumni volunteer groups in meeting the needs of the College and its alumni; 2) Provide the link between all alumni and all constituencies of the College; 3) Identify, recruit, and inspire alumni and prospective alumni to work in support of the College and each other, and provide recognition for those who do; and 4) Foster a spirit of loyalty and fellowship among alumni.

Executive Committee of the Alumni Council provides overall leadership to the Council and its committees and in the conduct of all Council business.

The Committee on Multicultural Alumni Relations (MARC) promotes cross-cultural awareness and increased understanding of our alumni of color within the Association and the greater Hamilton community.

The Regional Affairs Committee is comprised of the presidents of the Regional Alumni Associations and the regional GOLD chairs. Its mission is to engender life-long affiliation of alumni with the College by providing alumni with regional events placing an emphasis on alumni education.

The Class Leadership Committee
furthers class affiliation, disseminates information about the College and the class and supports the success of their respective class's Annual Fund. The members oversee Reunion planning for their classes' five year Reunion cycle.

The Nominations Committee
identifies alumni leaders and potential leaders and recruits alumni for service on the Council. The committee recommends annually nominees for Alumni Trustee and selects individuals to be recognized for their service to Hamilton.

The Committee on GOLD Group Engagement is comprised of current members of the Class Leadership Committee and MARC, as well as engaged volunteers from the GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Group, the Committee is charged with securing and increasing the involvement of the GOLD Group through volunteering, unrestricted giving, participation in regional and on-campus events and enhanced social and career networking.
