1. Spirit Day review - Highlight video in commons; posters as well - Trouble getting mass e-mail sent out
2. Committee on Athletics report - Title 9 issues – the proportion of male athletes to female athletes is greatly skewed due to football; plan to increase the number of female athletes via golf has thus far been unsuccessful. - Grade issues – schools such as Williams have reported that their recruited female athletes suffer academically while walk-ons do better; this trend is not present among males. The issue doesn’t apply to Hamilton athletes nearly as much. - Issues regarding fans – some parents complained about the Dog Pound; others were unhappy to hear "offensive" lyrics in pre-game music (football). Some guidelines necessary to make sure fans aren’t out of control, especially at Orange Bowl. Students correctly opine that parents/administration are overreacting; nonetheless, some consensus must be reached.
3. Presentation of Prospective Students cards - Unanimous approval; professional looking and very useful.
4. Community Service Report - AIDs hike, Trust Treat, Toys for Tots - Possible donations to Utica charity. If you have any suggestions for a particular charity, e-mail Jane.
5. Trust Treat - Will be held on Monday, October 31 from 5 – 8 p.m. - Jane will e-mail sign-ups
6. Male NESCAC representative still needed - The meeting is fast approaching; please e-mail Jane/Sue if you can go.
