1. Spring Events of the Season
- Men’s Tennis – Wed., April 20th vs. Union, 4pm
- Women’s Lacrosse – Sat. April 16th vs. William Smith, 2pm
- Men’s Lacrosse – Sat., April 23rd vs. Skidmore, 2pm
- Softball – Saturday, April 16th vs. Middlebury, 1pm
- Baseball – Saturday, April 23rd vs. Amherst, noon
- Crew – Sunday April 17th vs. St. Lawrence
- Track – Sat., April 23rd Hamilton Invitational
Please announce to your teams and get out and support these events!
2. NESCAC Hosting Guidelines – review prior to meeting (Baldwin/Belmont)
- see attachment
- SAAC reps should have conversations with their coaches about this.
3. Report on Sportsmanship Project for NESCAC (Dunn)
- Pamphlet for National Sportsmanship Day.
4. AIDS Hike for Life
- Jane will contact Jeanine Murtaugh (jmurtaug)
- give your teams a heads up and wait for an email from Jane.
5. SAAC Year in Review
- Reply to Jessie’s email.
6. New ideas for next year?
- Try to do more within the community (sportsmanship day downtown, reading with kids, playing sports with kids, etc.).
- Make more of an effort to make sure that all athletes know what SAAC is about, and who reps are (should we designate one person to be in charge of publicity?).
- discuss more general items of concern that affect athletics at Hamilton.
- create a list of pre-determined responsibilities for each committee so that events/activities get thought about before-hand.
7. Replacement Reps
a. Reps: NESCAC, LL, Committee on Athletics
b. Confirm those who will be returning to the committee
c. Elect chairs of sub-committees for 2005-06
8. Voting format for chair, vice-chair, secretary, publicity coordinator.
9. Discussed current awards system – mixed reviews about preferences. Little support for the certificates and no one wanted a frame for them. All wanted to receive a block H for lettering.
