As part of the Athletic Department, and under the direction of the team physician, the Sports Medicine staff provides high quality medical care for all Continental athletes as well as the entire Hamilton community.
All full-time staff members are certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc., the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association, and the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association.
Athletic training is an allied health profession recognized by the American Medical Association. Athletic trainers are responsible for the evaluation, management, rehabilitation and treatment of injuries/illnesses that often occur during participation in athletic endeavors.
The prevention of these injuries/illnesses, where possible, is of utmost concern. The Sports Medicine staff works in conjunction with the team physician, the Health Center staff, surrounding medical facilities, the Hamilton Athletic Department staff and the athletes to carry out these tasks.
