Networking is the process of developing personal contacts for the purpose of career exploration or job/internship assistance. Since most jobs are not advertised in newspapers or on job boards, proactive networking is the key to uncovering opportunities. It is the expectation of the Career Center that students make networking connections during your junior year, and our office provides a number of resources and opportunities for students to successfully achieve this milestone.

Apply for HamiltonExplore, our shadowing program for sophomores. This program gives sophomores the tools to learn the step-by-step process of networking. Spend time with alumni and parents who will share their time and experience with you.
Attend a networking workshop and let our professional counselors teach you how to gain networking experience. Workshops are held each semester, and can be found in our calendar on HamNET.
Participate in an online networking workshop in Blackboard. We know you are busy! We have developed an online workshop that you can access from the comfort of your dorm without losing the quality of a live workshop.
There are a number of on- and off-campus networking events held each year which allow students to network with employers, alumni and parents. Watch for on-campus employer information sessions and off-campus employer site visits, as well as other networking events sponsored through the Career Center.
