Your cover letter is the gateway to an interview. An interesting and well-written cover letter will catch the attention of your prospective employer and motivate them to review your resume.
As part of the internship or job search process, there are other forms of business correspondence you will need to master, including:
networking letters - to express interest and request informational interviews
thank - you letters - to express thanks following a job or an informational interview.
This guide is designed to help you organize your thoughts before you begin writing your correspondence. The guide also provides sample formatting styles for various forms of correspondence and suggestions about when it is acceptable to send an email as opposed to a hard-copy letter.
