Allen HarrisonAllen Harrison, Jr. is the Associate Dean of Students for Diversity and Accessibility. Allen works with and advocates for students from diverse racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, abilities and sexual orientations. Additionally, he facilitates diversity and other campus-based training; provides leadership in the development of educational, cultural, and social programs and activities; fosters a campus climate that celebrates and respects the uniqueness of all its members; and builds and strengthens partnerships throughout the Hamilton College community and beyond.  He has extensive knowledge of multiple areas within student life, and campus diversity issues, as Harrison has approximately fourteen-years of higher education administration experience.  He received his B.A. from Curry College and his M.B.A. and M.S. from SUNY Institute of Technology. As a Utica native, Harrison looks forward to serving both the Hamilton and local communities.

Avery Rizio '09 Presents Research at Psychonomic Society Meeting
Avery Rizio '09 presented her second consecutive poster at the annual Psychonomic Society Meeting in Chicago on Nov. 15. Psychonomics is the annual gathering place for the top researchers in the field of cognitive psychology to discuss their research findings. The poster outlined the work Rizio conducted this past summer and is an extension of the work that she has been conducting over the past three years with Makiko Maeyama '09, Jennifer Sadowsky '08, Leigh Ercole '11, Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology Mark Oakes and Professor of Psychology Penny Yee. Previous work by Rizio and colleagues was presented in Long Beach, Calif., last November.
