Wireless Network Expansion

Objectives

1. Provide 802.11b/g wireless network coverage inside most areas of all residential, academic, and administrative buildings and provide greater outdoor wireless coverage of campus.
2. Provide secure transmission of information for members of the Hamilton community. 
3. Provide guests and visitors in some public buildings (Burke Library, Science Center, and a few others) with open, unauthenticated, non-encrypted wireless access to just the Internet, but no Hamilton services.
4. Provide outdoor wireless access points which can be configured to provide temporary network connectivity between buildings in the event of a significant disruption in our wired network or fiber cable plant.
