Wireless Network Support

The Hamilton College wireless network is based on the Cisco Lightweight Access Point wireless architecture. Users must have an 802.11b or 802.11g (2.4 GHz) compatible wireless adapter which supports WPA security and PEAP authentication to use with their laptop. Most adapters do work fine on the wireless network, but we cannot guarantee all adapters will work the same.

Software updates for the wireless network should be downloaded via the wired network.

If the need for a temporary wireless LAN arises, such as for a conference, departments can request that ITS install wireless equipment for a short time period.

ITS will provide wireless network connectivity support to users during normal hours fo operation.

General questions about the wireless network can be directed to the ITS Help Desk via phone at x4181 or sending email to helpdesk@hamilton.edu.

You can e-mail the network services team at ns@hamilton.edu
