Recycling at Hamilton College

Welcome to Recycling at Hamilton College!

We hope this site will foster not only awareness of our recycling program, but also pride and interest in it's maintenance and improvement.

Let us know how we can make this system work better for you! Questions, comments, and suggestions can all be directed to:

FACT:

  • Hamilton pays $79.95 for every ton of garbage we produce in the community, but disposing of recyclables is free.

TIPS:

  • The container group include plastics #1-6 (look on the bottom of most containers for the recycling symbol).
  • Cups from McEwen and the Diner are not recyclable!  Commons cups are recyclable if they are rinsed out.
  • Use the blue bin in your room or office to make recycling easier.
  • Use a travel mug or water bottle instead of paper cups.
