The Nature of the "Reveries"
La Nature des "RĂªveries"
XIVth Biennial Colloquium of the Rousseau Association
XIVe colloque bisannuel de l'Association Rousseau
Hamilton College
9-12 June 2005
Thank you for your interest
in the XIVth Biennial Colloquium of the Rousseau Association. More information about the Association can be
found on this Web site. Papers will be
given in English or French, as this is a bilingual association, and the
colloquium has attracted an international panel of experts, as you can see from
the program. All sessions have a plenary
format. The subject of this year's
colloquium is Rousseau's last work, his Reveries
of the Solitary Wallker, published posthumously in 1782.
Members of the Hamilton College and Clinton communities are welcome to attend any
or all of the daytime events scheduled for the colloquium at no charge. Those outside of the local community will
need to register with Ms. Dannelle Parker, Administrative Services, Hamilton College, 198 College Hill Road,
Clinton, NY 13323 (telephone:
315-859-4372; e-mail: dparker@hamilton.edu).
Registration fees for the entire conference are $50.00 or $25.00 per day for
Friday or Saturday. There will be no
charge for either the first plenary talk on Thursday afternoon or the Sunday
morning session. Anyone wishing to
purchase lunch at the conference may do so in advance for $12.00 per day on
Friday and Saturday, $10.00 on Sunday.
Contact Ms. Parker if you wish to join us for lunch on any one of these
days.
This Web site is organized as
follows after this greeting and the home page:
I hope many of you in the
local community and as many people as possible from across New York State
will take advantage of this opportunity to discover or come to know better the
work of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I look
forward to seeing you in the sessions, June 9-12 on Hamilton's campus.
