Family Weekend 2008 will be kicked-off on Friday, October 31, Halloween. Hamilton has some wonderful Halloween traditions including Trust Treat and we hope Hamilton families will feel welcome to participate. We are in the process of finalizing Family Weekend events and invite you to take a look at our schedule.

In order for you to make your plans now, I have the following suggestions:

• Plan to arrive Thursday evening (Oct. 30) or early on Friday so you can take advantage of Hamilton's open classes. Even if you don't want to accompany your student to class, you are welcome to choose other classes to attend. You have an opportunity to check out subjects and professors for your own interest and intellectual curiosity.
• Most Family Weekend activities are over by Sunday, although there are religious services that families are welcome to attend.
• Saturday night is the usual date for treating your child (and friends) to dinner and you should make your reservations soon. President Stewart enjoys the fine dining at Perugia. Our trustees often drive to Waterville to eat at La Petite Maison. Call me for other suggestions or here is a link to area restaurants.
• This is "Family Weekend" and is a great time to introduce grandparents and siblings to Hamilton as well!
• Accommodations: Please consider the ABC Program. If you bond with your host and find a good fit, you can make your arrangements for the next several years.

A Better Chance of Clinton (ABC) Bed and Breakfast program offers families an alternative to staying in an area hotel. This volunteer-run organization raises funds for the Clinton ABC Program by providing accommodations with local families during Commencement and Family Weekend.
