No, the student health service is not equipped to bill individual student insurance companies. If you are seen here and are billed for medications or tests, our office will provide you with a bill which you may submit to your insurance carrier. A copy of the bill is kept in the students medical chart. A copy of the bill with limited information is also sent to the business office and the charge is applied to the tuition bill.
Please note the date for any health center charges that appear on the statement of accounts is not the date the student was seen in the health center, it is the date the business office applied the charge to the billing statement. Copies of health center invoices are available upon the written request of the student.
Yes, we will need to be notified of any changes to your health insurance. Please have a front and back copy of your card sent to the health center.
If you have a prescription plan, we do advise you to fill the prescriptions at one of the three local pharmacies in Clinton. CVS , Kinney Drugs, and Empire Drugs all deliver prescriptions to the health center free of charge. The pharmacies require the prescription, your health insurance information and a credit card on file for billing purposes. You will need to bring your Hill card with you to the health center to pick up your prescription as a form of verification.
The health center will provide a voucher for a taxi transport off campus for medical purposes. You need to call the health center at least one day in advance to make arrangements for this service or you may contact campus safety for after hours and on weekends when the health center is closed.
Be advised that failure to cancel an appointment for scheduled taxi transportation will result in a noncancellation fee which will be added to the student's tuition bill.
The health center staff will only contact your parents if there is a life threatening illness or concern. If you are being sent to the hospital, we ask you to contact your parents to let them know. If you sign a medical release giving the provider permission, the provider will discuss the condition with your parent.
If you were seen at the health center and your parents call to discuss the visit, you will need to sign a medical release while you are here granting permission for the provider to discuss your appointment with your parents.
No, the physical exam form is required only as an entering first year student. If any new medical information arises, we do ask you to inform the health center or have medical records sent to our office.
