The Hamilton Outing Club shall promote awareness of and appreciation for the wilderness that surrounds our campus by making the outdoors more accessible to our community. We will provide logistical and gear support for trips, organize various campus-wide activities, and help to train and educate students and future trip leaders in a manner that is both ecologically sound and safe-ish.
The Hamilton Outing Club (HOC) is the largest club on campus. We offer equipment rentals during open hours, weekend trips and expeditions during longer breaks. Backcountry cooking in the fall brings lots of people to the Glen House on Thursday nights, and trip leader training happens during the fall. Winter evenings bring advanced workshops and interesting talks, plus annual events like the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Over the longer breaks, we offer trips to such far-flung places as North Carolina, Arizona, California, Virginia, the Everglades, and famously, Ecuador.
Trips and signups for the second part of this semester are up. Watch for emails. If you don't see something you like, say so.
