October 15, 2008 This past week has been insane. Writing papers, studying for tests, preparing speeches...I've done it all for midterms. All-nighters are pulled, Opus runs are many and sleep is hard to come by.
As my 3rd round of midterms here at Hamilton College come to a close today, I feel confident about my work. Midterms really are not that bad if you have kept up with the readings and done the homework throughout the semester. The hard part about it is the fact that all the tests come at once. How do I get through it all? That is a secret I'll never tell.
Okay that’s a lie, because I'm going to tell you right now how I get through it all. I keep my focus on the light at the end of the tunnel: FALL BREAK. I can pull one more all-nighter, I can study for five hours straight — because as of tomorrow I'll be relaxing, sleeping in and eating my mom's delicious food for four whole days.
Fall break gives us hard-working students a well-needed vacation right in the middle of the semester. When I come back I'll be all ready to tackle the rest of the semester. While I am heading to Pittsburgh, not everyone makes it back home for the break. These few days give everyone enough time to try something new. Go hiking in the Adirondacks, visit New York City for the first time, or take a road trip to Canada! The best thing about fall break is the ability to visit anywhere for a long weekend.
In three short hours, I will be on my way home to enjoy some time with my two puppies, Izzy and Jackie, my mom, my dad, my brother, and of course, my bed. See you back on the Hill Sunday!
