Of note: A hospitality suite located on the first floor of McEwen on the Kirkland Campus will be our gathering spot throughout the weekend. It offers message boards, coffee/tea/cider, snacks, and a cozy place to meet friends.

Professors Bruce Muirhead P’86 and Bill Salzillo, with Amy Buchholz ’80 and Jake Muirhead ’86, will present a hands-on workshop on intaglio printmaking and discuss the formation of Atelier Four and recent exhibitions. Elaine Weiss K'73 will talk about her book in which she tells the story of the 'farmerette' of WWI. The Woman's Land Army of America, did a "man's job", in military-style uniform, on the rural home front during the Great War. During the war she was the toast of Broadway, the darling of the smart set, a star of the wartime cinema newsreel, and highlight of the Liberty Loan parade… And then she disappeared.

Gather to mark Hamilton’s 200th anniversary at a Bicentennial meeting featuring remarks by President Joan Hinde Stewart, Alumni Association President Julie Ross ’84 and Chairman of the Board of Trustees A.G. Lafley ’69. Ralph Oman ’62, P’04 will present the half-century annalist letter, continuing a Hamilton tradition established in 1865, and the Bell Ringer Award will be presented posthumously to Patricia Tolles Smalley P’93, who served for many years as a trustee and was an advocate of Kirkland's legacy. The ceremony will also include a showing of the bicentennial film and remarks by Josie Jones ’12, a direct descendant of George Albion Calhoun, Hamilton’s first graduate. Led by the Bagpipes of the Mohawk Valley Frasers, the assembly will parade to a cookout on the Dunham Green following the event.

Join U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack ’72, P’00 and Christie Bell Vilsack K’72, P’00, a 2012 candidate for U.S. representative for Iowa’s 4th congressional district, as they share insights from their lives in public office. Tom served two terms as governor of Iowa, and Christie worked to raise awareness of issues around literacy.

A shuttle will depart at 6:50 p.m. from the Campus Road near "Cocktails with the 70s" to provide transportation to the residence of Alison "Woody" Root K'72 for a dinner with fellow Kirkland alumnae.
Bassist/vocalist Nicki Parrott, with her endearing personality and engaging stage presence, returns to Hamilton. Awarded Best Jazz Vocal Album (2007 and 2008) by Swing Journal, Nicki performs regularly at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City where she was Les Paul’s bassist and vocalist for 10 years. She recently teamed up with pianist Rossanno Sportiello and drummer Ed Metz to create an intriguing program of tunes covering jazz, the Great American Songbook and a touch of classical music. Just steps from the blinking light at the foot of College Hill and built by Hamilton’s founder Samuel Kirkland in 1794, the farm has been maintained by the Harding family since the 1850s.
