    Collection of more than 180,000 photographs and images including current events, sports, maps, entertainment, the sciences and historical interests. To search the image collection, click the "Images" link on the green toolbar.

    Collection of thousands of historic photographs, prints, maps, and other printed materials from the Library of Congress.
     
  • AP Images
    Over 3.5 million current and historical news photographs and 60,000 graphics (including maps, timelines, logos and graphs) from the 1840s to the present.
     
  • ARTstor
    Collection of approximately 500,000 images of architecture, painting, photography, sculpture, decorative arts and design, as well as archeological and anthropological objects.
     
  • GroveArt Online Image Collections
    Follow the "Images" link to access more than 200,000 images of works of art held by museums and galleries around the world.
     
  • Photo Galaxy CDs
    Burke Reserve Desk - TR655 .P56 2001
    Collection of 5,400 royalty-free digital photos on five CD-ROMs. Can be used in graphics artwork, multimedia projects, web sites, brochures, flyers, etc.

  • American Memory: Motion Pictures
    The Library of Congress' online collections feature hundreds of historic films dating back to the late 19th century.
     
  • Internet Archive: Moving Image Archive
    Collection of thousands of videos ranging from classic full-length movies to daily alternative news broadcasts and user-uploaded videos (See rights information.)
     
    Of particular note is the Prelinger Archives, an online collection of approximately 2,000 ephemeral (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films made between 1927 and 1987.
     
  • ITN/Reuters Stock Footage Library

  • Historic Presidential Speeches

    The actual voices of seventeen American presidents from 1908-1993. The speeches were selected by the staff of the Library of Congress, surviving first ladies, and the living presidents and their staffs.
     
  • Period Backgrounds: Sound Effects

    A wide variety of period atmosphere sound effects for stage production and sound beds for TV, radio, and multimedia programs. All 69 tracks were selected from both the British Library National Sound Archive and the collection of the Oscar-winning film sound mixer Peter Handford.
