Announcement & Call for Papers
You are invited to share your research and to learn about the work being done by other macroeconomists at liberal arts colleges. The primary goals of this workshop are:
1) to create an open forum that allows macroeconomists at liberal arts colleges to expose their work to a group of their peers and gain valuable feedback; and,
2) to build a network of colleagues with whom to share ideas and collaborate on research projects.
This workshop is being supported by funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
We invite faculty to submit paper proposals in the fields of:
- Macroeconomics
- Monetary economics
- Fiscal policy
- Open-economy macro
- Growth
- International finance
Submissions from junior faculty are particularly encouraged.
If you are interested in submitting a paper to present, please send the following information (in MS Word or PDF format) to lamacro@hamilton.edu:
- the title of your paper
- an abstract (approximately one page)
- the name, affiliation, and contact information of the author(s) and
- fields (from the list above) for which you would be willing to act as a discussant
Submission deadline is May 1, 2009.
Authors will be notified of acceptance by May 15th. Final drafts are due July 12th and will be posted on the workshop website in advance of the workshop.
If you would like to serve as a discussant, please send the following information by May 15th:
- the name, affiliation, and contact information of the author(s) and
- fields (from the list above) for which you would be willing to act as a discussant
Paper discussants will be selected from institutions other than the author's to facilitate intercollegiate contacts. We also welcome those who would like to attend the workshop but not present or discuss a paper.

Travel Plans and Expenses
There are no registration fees. NSF funding enables us to provide overnight accommodations on campus for up to two nights for workshop participants.
Other expenses associated with the workshop, including the meals listed on the
workshop schedule, will be covered by the NSF and Hamilton College. However, participants are responsible for their own travel expenses.
For those of you who are flying, the closest airport is Syracuse airport, approximately 45 minutes west of Clinton. Further directions to Hamilton can be found
