Leo Rodnell Donaldson '73

Leo Rodnell Donaldson '73, a physician, was born into a family of 10 children in the Bahamas. A son of George and Nicerina Donaldson, he grew up in Nassau, where his mother ran a dry goods shop. He came to Hamilton in 1969, following his graduation from Government High School in Nassau, and remained at the College for two years before transferring to Fisk University in Nashville, TN.

Leo Donaldson subsequently obtained his M.D. degree from Meharry Medical College, also in Nashville, and began his medical career in Philadelphia, PA. However, he soon returned to the Bahamas and, according to information recently received by the College, was last practicing medicine in Brazil until stricken a few years ago with heart disease.

Leo R. Donaldson died on April 25, 2007, at the Sobral Heart Hospital in Sobral Ceará, Brazil. He is survived by his wife, Rosineide Batista Donaldson, and six daughters and seven sons.

Lynn Elizabeth Buzbee K'79

Lynn Elizabeth Buzbee K'79, for many years engaged in assisting abused women and children, was born on October 28, 1957, in New York City. The daughter of John and Ellen W. Buzbee, she grew up in Scarsdale, NY, and was graduated from Scarsdale High School. An avid swimmer and enthusiastic tennis player, she entered Kirkland College in 1975, but withdrew after a year and subsequently attended the University of Vermont.

Lynn Buzbee worked for several years with abused children in Burlington, VT, before moving to Marblehead, MA, where she worked for an organization that provided assistance to abused women and their children. In addition, she worked in a similar capacity for the city of Lynn, MA. In 2004, she moved to Highland Park, NJ, and was employed as a freelance consultant to the Nomura Research Institute.

Lynn E. Buzbee died on November 6, 2007, of a cerebral hemorrhage, while hospitalized in nearby New Brunswick. Predeceased by her mother, she is survived by her father and two brothers, William and Stephen Buzbee.
