Necrology 1970'sLeo Rodnell Donaldson '73Leo Rodnell Donaldson '73, a physician, was born into a family of 10 children in the Bahamas. A son of George and Nicerina Donaldson, he grew up in Nassau, where his mother ran a dry goods shop. He came to Hamilton in 1969, following his graduation from Government High School in Nassau, and remained at the College for two years before transferring to Fisk University in Nashville, TN.Leo Donaldson subsequently obtained his M.D. degree from Meharry Medical College, also in Nashville, and began his medical career in Philadelphia, PA. However, he soon returned to the Bahamas and, according to information recently received by the College, was last practicing medicine in Brazil until stricken a few years ago with heart disease. Leo R. Donaldson died on April 25, 2007, at the Sobral Heart Hospital in Sobral Ceará, Brazil. He is survived by his wife, Rosineide Batista Donaldson, and six daughters and seven sons. |
