Summer Research 2009Many Hamilton students and faculty will remain on the Hill this summer, doing collaborative research on more than 100 projects. Eighteen students will work with faculty on a wide range of Emerson grant projects, another 18 will study public policy issues for the Levitt Center and more than 70 students will conduct science research. Summer Internships 2009Thirty-three Hamilton students had the opportunity to explore career paths with internships in a variety of fields. From Duke University's Center for Cognitive Neuroscience to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection of Modern Art in Venice, Italy, they received firsthand experience working in jobs that might determine their futures. Iceland 2009During the last Ice Age, the whole country of Iceland was covered in a thick sheet of ice. From an aerial view, most of the island would have appeared to be in a state of frigid serenity. But under the ice, chaos ensued – massive volcanoes entombed in the ice erupted often, causing the overlying ice to melt.
