The Hamilton College women's soccer team scored a late goal to slide past visiting Wesleyan 1-0 in a NESCAC game Saturday afternoon at Love Field. The Continentals stretched their unbeaten streak to three, picking up their first conference win of the season to improve to 2-4-2 (1-3-2 NESCAC).

Victoria Freeman ’16 scored the game winner with just 7:21 left, taking a pass from Katie Kreider ’18 at the top of the box and sending a shot through traffic into the net. The goal was Freeman’s second in as many games; she now has 11 career goals, including three game-winning scores.
Rachel Cooley ’18 made three saves to record her second career shutout.
The Cardinals' best scoring chances were a pair of first-half opportunities that both ended the same way. Midway through the period Marisa Yang sent a shot over the Hamilton defense that nearly cleared Cooley to land in the net, but Cooley leaped high enough to tip the ball over the crossbar. Nine minutes later, Kaylie Williams settled a corner kick about 15 yards from the net but sent her shot just over the top of the crossbar.
Kreider’s assist came after she’d nearly put the Continentals ahead twice before intermission. A little over 25 minutes in she received a great cross at the left post and sent a left-footed shot at the net but it went just wide and landed in the side of the net. Five minutes before halftime she wound up from 35 yards out and put a shot into the bottom of the crossbar but Wesleyan goalkeeper Meghan Hanan got her hands on the ball and pushed it over the net. Hanan made six saves for Wesleyan (4-3-1, 1-2-1).
