Autobiography of a Baby Boomer, a memoir written by Dr. Robert Schultz '69, is set to release in May 2013. The subtitle describes the book as, "One man's detour from Cornell Medical School across Europe, Afghanistan, Iran, & India (with a few potholes along the way)."

A.G. Lafley Provides Seven Pieces of Advice for Class of 2012

In his address at Hamilton College’s Bicentennial commencement, A.G. Lafley ’69, former chairman and CEO of the Procter & Gamble Co., urged the Class of 2012 to embrace the choices life hands them because they will learn something from each one they make. “While you can’t control the twists and turns that will push and pull your life in unanticipated directions, you can control the person you choose to become,” Lafley said. He shared a few things he’s learned since he graduated from Hamilton in 1969.

A.G. Lafley, former chairman and CEO of the Procter & Gamble Co., and chairman of Hamilton’s board of trustees, will deliver the Commencement address at Hamilton on Sunday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m., in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. A live webcast of the commencement ceremony will be available online beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Trustee Chair Delivers Keynote at Career Conference

 A.G. Lafley, former president, CEO and board chair of the Procter & Gamble Company, delivered one of two keynote addresses at the “Rethinking Success: From the Liberal Arts to Careers in the 21st Century” conference held April 11-13 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

NECC and Hamilton Have Strong Ties

New England Center for Children Was Founded by Vincent Strully '69

Fifteen Hamilton students and three faculty and staff members traveled to the New England Center for Children (NECC) in Southborough, Mass., on March 30.  Students who had expressed interest in pursuing internships and careers at the center were invited to tour the facility and meet members of the staff.

Commencement speaker A.G. Lafley '69, Hamilton’s Board of Trustees chair and former Procter & Gamble chairman and  CEO, was interviewed by Adweek along with his six fellow Advertising Hall of Fame 2012 inductees in a March 18 article, "What Makes a Legend Tick?" The New York Times Sunday Book Review included a favorable review of a new book, Coral Glynn, by 2012 honorary degree recipient Peter Cameron '82, on the same day.

An opinion piece titled “A Liberal Education: Preparation for Career Success” written by Board of Trustees Chair and former Procter & Gamble CEO A.G. Lafley ’69 was published on Huffington Post’s site on Dec. 6. In addressing the question often asked by college students, “What subjects and what majors should I choose to ensure their long-term success?,” Lafley replied, “…pursue a liberal arts education. For most people, it's the best foundation for a successful career.

Bicentennial Assembly Celebrates Hamilton's Past, Present and Future

The Hamilton community gathered en masse in Wellin Hall on Sept. 24 for the Hamilton College Bicentennial Assembly. The Assembly featured speakers representing members of all parts of the College community. Speakers addressed Hamilton’s distinguished past, bright future and the elements that make the College a truly unique institution. The event served as a keynote feature of the weekend that kicked off the yearlong celebration of Hamilton’s first 200 years.
