Located in 223/224 Christian A. Johnson Hall, the Quantitative & Symbolic Reasoning Center (QSR) was established to offer peer tutoring in introductory level courses containing a mathematics/quantitative component. Students may drop in to review topics as needed, or use the resources of the computer lab and library.
Other programs offered by the Center include the non-credit-bearing tutorial for students (up to the class of 2013) who need to fulfill the Quantitative Literacy Requirement, support for the Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning Requirement QSR (for students from 2014 on), help for the mathematics portion of Graduate Record Exam, and workshops designed to accompany specific courses.
If you are taking an introductory or upper-level quantitative course in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, or Psychology, you may drop in on any time when tutors are available for the course you are taking.
Some students may be referred to the Center by their professors. Some professors may ask an entire class to come to the Center to review skills needed for success in the course.
