Important Off-Campus Housing Information

To some of you, it may seem too early to think about living off-campus for your senior year at Hamilton but there are a couple of things you should know now so you can avoid stress later.

How do I get permission to live off campus?

•  As a Junior you will receive an email from us in the early part of the Spring semester.  All rising seniors are given the opportunity to sign up for off-campus housing and to request to "pull" one other rising senior with them.  Once sign-ups are over we randomly assign each person a lottery number.  We make a list of the students with the highest lottery numbers until we get to 40 students (please understand that the group of 40 students includes the people that were pulled).  We then put the rest of the people who signed up on a wait list ranked by lottery number (we still honor pulls if you are on the wait list and we have enough spaces open up).
•  Students on the wait list are offered off-campus housing only if someone on the list of 40 declines and chooses to stay on campus.
•  Please note that the number of students allowed to live off-campus may change every year but it is generally around 40.
