RA Staff Selection for students who wish to serve in the position
for the 2012-13 Academic Year
The following timeline details the process for applying to become a Resident Advisor. For more information on the responsibilities and compensation of this position please review the RA Contract here.
Application Process for New RA Candidates:
Applications for new RA Candidates are now available here.
This process is for all candidates who have not previously served as an RA at Hamilton, and who will be on-campus for the spring semester. All new applicants must attend one 90 minute group interview session and one 45 minute individual interview. The dates and times are provided below. Applicants will be assigned to a time slot for both the group and individual interviews. The schedule will be distributed via email.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 - 7 p.m.: KJ Auditorium
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - 7 p.m.: Science Center G041
Thursday, January 26, 2012 - 7 p.m.: Wertimer Main Lounge

February 3, 2012 - All applications are due by 4:30pm.

February 7 & 8, 2012: Group Interview Process. All new applicants are required to attend one of the 4 group interview sessions. Sessions will run from 6-7:30pm and 7:30-9pm each night. Candidates will be assigned to one of the sessions by the Office of Residential Life.

February 12, 2012: Individual interviews will take place between 9am and 4pm. Candidates will be assigned to an interview time. All candidates must plan to attend their assigned time on this day.

March 2, 2012: Decision Letters: All candidates will receive a decision letter in their Campus Mailbox.
Application Process for Returning RA Candidates:
This process is for all RAs who have served as an RA in the past and wish to return to the staff.

January 16, 2012: A link to the On-line Returning RA Application will be sent to all former RAs via email, and made available on the RA resources webpage.

Februrary 3, 2012: All applications must be completed and submitted on-line by 4:30pm.

March 2, 2012: Decision letters will be sent to all candidates.
Application Process for the Head Resident Advisor Position:
This process is for any returning RAs who wish to take on the additional responsibilities of the Head Resident Advisor Position.

December 10, 2011: On-line applications for the HRA position become available. A link will be sent to returning RAs via email, and will also be posted on the RA resources page.

January 23, 2012: All applications must be completed and submitted on-line by 4:30pm.

January 23 - January 27, 2012: Individual interviews will be held in the Office of Residential Life.

January 31, 2012: HRA Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their applications. Applicants that are not offered the position will be placed into the pool of Returning RA applicants.
Application Process for Students Studying Aboard in Spring Semester of 2011:
This process is only for new and returning RA applicants who will not be able to take part in the regular selection process because they will be off-campus during the spring semester.

October 27, 2010: Online applications will be made available for returning staff members and a link will be sent out via e-mail.

November 19, 2010: Deadline to submit an application on-line for the Head RA position.

November 30, 2010: Applications will be sent out via email to new RA Candidates.

December 10, 2010: Deadline for new RA candidates to submit early applications.

December 13-17, 2010: Interviews will be held for all new candidates.
