Student Assembly Minutes
November 16, 2009
Call to Order: 9:02 p.m.
Update on Community Statement
- The forum was last Friday and the faculty and administration gave a lot of input
- The committee will be meeting this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in KJ 104
i. If anyone would like to help finalize the statement, it is open to the entire community
- The final draft will be presented for final edits and then a vote to be added as a referendum in the - December all-campus vote during the next Student Assembly meeting
Funding -
Vote
- Mock Trial receives full funding (from next semester's budget)
i. The majority of their endowment is being also being used to subsidize their trips
- Duelly Noted must resubmit
- Hamiltones must resubmit
- SK Films is returning $3603.25
- There is now the potential to fulfill some of the outstanding budget requests that were originally declined
- Future a capella proposals for the remainder of the semester will come 50% out of the performance endowment of the Student Activities office

Food

Facilities
i. There is hot water again in the Alumni Gym locker room showers
- The valve has been manually adjusted for now and parts have been ordered
ii. KJ and specifically the Red Pit temperature is being monitored and has been stable at 68 degrees
iii. Please keep on sending ideas on how to make the bridge less slippery to safacil@hamilton.edu
iv. The lights in Commons will be fixed over break
- The long term plan is to increase lighting while maintaining architectural integrity and ambiance; currently working on that plan
Diversity and Accessibility
i. Will meet after break to discuss next semester's plans
- Planning another bus trip to New York City
ii. An all-campus e-mail will be sent out about the next meeting
Social Traditions
i. Currently planning Citrus Bowl for the Monday after break, November 30th at 7pm in Sage Rink
ii. If anyone has t-shirt ideas email soctrad@hamilton.edu
iii. Will be meeting this Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in KJ 101
Student Interests
i. Talked about the Shopping Stroll for December 12th from 2:00 – 6:00 and will be trying to get the Jitney service to shuttle students back and forth
- An all-campus e-mail will be sent out with more details
ii. If there are any inventory suggestions for the bookstore please e-mail rmaass@hamilton.edu
iii. Will be trying to work with the bookstore to get the New York Times in the dining halls for next semester
Elections
i. Platforms and signature sheets for SA President and VP are due by noon this Friday to Edwin Gaston
Technology
i. Ghostbusters has sound now but it cuts out
ii. The December movie survey is still out
