Student Assembly Minutes
February 23, 2009
A. Call to Order: 9:04 p.m.
B. Coalition on Sexual Violence report: Caitlyn Williams
- Met with several (greek) society presidents to discuss issues related to sexual assault
- Society presidents would support an educational workshop that would be required for pledges
- Workshop would be a good way to make people aware of what the consequences could be as a result
of alcohol
- Still looking for a speaker or host for the workshop
- Hoping to collect new data regarding sexual assault at Hamilton (collected last in 2001)
- First-year students, during the spring semester, could be a good target for this education
- Next meeting is March 9th at 4:00 p.m. in Root 203
- A student voiced the concern that if Greek life is only targeted then a huge part of campus would be
left out
- Sexual assault occurs within the Greek societies more than elsewhere as a result of the greater
exposure to alcohol
- Email Caitlyn Williams with questions or concerns (cmwillia)
