Hamilton’s Student Fellowships Coordinator will work with you to identify and apply for nationally and internationally competitive opportunities.
International Summer Research Funding
This new program is designed to support second- and third-year Hamilton students who wish to conduct summer research outside the United States in locations such as universities, government agencies, museums, archives, art galleries, archaeological and historical sites, research libraries, laboratories, and field sites.

History major Elza Harb ’18 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Cyprus.

Kureem Nugent ’18, Isabel O'Malley ’18, Paula Ortiz ’18, and Marquis Palmer ’18 have been named Watson Fellows providing them a $30,000 stipend to pursue a “year of independent, purposeful exploration” abroad. Although students from 40 peer schools are eligible to receive these awards, no other school had more than three recipients this year.

Amari Leigh ’21 has been named a 2018 Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact, a Boston-based non-profit organization working to advance the public purposes of higher education.

Victoria Blumenfeld ’16 has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Malaysia for the 2017-18 academic year.

Andre Burnham ‘18 and Michael Valeri ‘19 have been awarded Coccia Foundation Scholarships for study abroad in Italy. The Foundation was established in 1994 by Cavaliere Joseph Coccia, Jr., and his wife Elda. The organization is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Italian culture, with a particular emphasis on promoting the rich Italian cultural heritage among younger generations at the college level.

Victoria Bullivant ’18 has been awarded the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS). She will study Arabic will study in Amman, Jordan.

Kathryn “Katie” Veasey ’17 will link her concentration in environmental studies to her love for golf in a project for which she has been awarded Hamilton’s Bristol Fellowship.

Taryn Ruf ’17 has been awarded Hamilton’s Bristol Fellowship for her project “The Whey Forward: Exploring Cheese Producers’ Blending of Tradition and Modernity.”

Juniors Andre Burnham and Derian De La Torre have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships for study abroad this summer. Burnham will attend the Babilonia Language School in Sicily and De La Torre will study in Hamilton’s Associated Colleges in China program in Beijing.

Sarah Hogoboom ’17 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Vietnam. A world politics major, she studied in Nepal, Jordan and Chile through the School for International Training Honors Program in Human Rights in 2016.
