SAT Prep Tutoring expands access to college for low-income high school students. Using college volunteers as tutors, mentors and role models, Tutors provide intensive SAT preparation and critical assistance with the college admissions process at no cost to students.

The COOP currently supports two SAT Prep programs. Both programs offer SAT math and verbal coaching for students at Proctor High School, part of the Utica City School District. On Saturdays, seven Hamilton coaches work with Proctor's Young Scholars program. Mondays and Tuesdays 13 other Hamilton coaches work with students at the Underground Cafe, a local hangout for Proctor students. In addition to offering coaching in SAT math and verbal skills, Hamilton students also help guide Proctor students through the college application process, and offer advice and anecdotes on everything from financial aid forms to extra-curricular activities  in college.

SAT Prep Tutoring is made possible through funding from the Office of the President and the Kirkland Endowment.
