The Levitt Public Service Internship Fund was started with the generous support of Arthur Levitt, Jr., with the goal of supporting students interested in careers in public service.

Levitt Public Service Internship Awards provide funding for students who have secured an unpaid or minimally paid summer internship that focuses on some aspect of public service.  You do not have to have a secured internship in order to apply for funding.

Eligibility

In order to receive funding students must procure a public service internship, which may include internships in government, non-profit organizations, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), think tanks and other comparable organizations. Preference will be given to sophomores and juniors, and to students working in government, nonprofits and NGOs.

To qualify for summer internship funding, you must have one or more active applications for internship experience which must:

  • be full time (240 hours minimum)
  • take place during the summer
  • be unpaid or minimally paid
  • focus on some aspect of public service
  • offer supervised practical training
