  • One of Hamilton College’s most generous benefactors and a leading businessman and philanthropist in the Utica community has died. F. Eugene Romano, a Utica native and a 1949 Hamilton graduate, passed away on Saturday, Jan.7. He was 94.

  • The Hamilton College Theatre Department presents the spring production of the musical Spring Awakening, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, and music by Duncan Sheik. Based on Frank Wedekind’s provocative play, the Tony Award-winning Spring Awakening explores the conflict between repressive adult society and adolescent sexual awakenings in 19th century Germany. It's directed by Professor of Theatre Craig Latrell, with music direction by Karen Corigliano and choreography by Professor of Dance Elaine Heekin.

  • On two gorgeous late summer nights, Hamilton student theatre group Bare Naked theatre presented Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, unveiling the Kennedy Center Amphitheatre.

  • The Theatre Department's presentation of Our Town, directed by Professor Craig Latrell, continues this week. Performances will run Wednesday, April 22 – Saturday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m.  in the new state-of-the-art Romano Theatre within the Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts.

  • When Hamilton dedicated the $46.8 million Kevin and Karen Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts as part of Fallcoming and Family Weekend in October, more than 3,000 alumni, parents and friends filled hotels, bed and breakfasts, and restaurants in Central New York. Constructing new facilities and hosting such celebratory weekends are two factors considered in a new economic impact study commissioned by the Albany-based Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) for its members.

  • The opening of the Kevin and Karen Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Performing Arts and former New York Yankees captain and shortstop Derek Jeter’s visit to Hamilton in December drew a great deal of interest from local media during 2014. Student research and volunteering garnered significant local attention, and faculty members and administrators offered expertise on timely news topics throughout the year.

  • The Hamilton College Theatre Department announces the fall theater production, A Dream Play, by August Strindberg in a new version by Caryl Churchill. Performances will run Nov. 6 – Nov. 8, and  Nov. 12 –  Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. All performances will take place in the new state-of-the-art Romano Theatre within the Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts.
