Beth Eischen, visiting assistant professor of instruction for biology, presented a workshop titled “Using progressive team-based concept mapping to increase student engagement, feelings of belonging and understanding of core concepts in an introductory anatomy course” at the 2025 meeting of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) at the University of Pittsburgh in May.

Teams of anatomy and physiology educators from around the country participated in simulations of instructional practices that Eischen uses in her courses. At the 2024 meeting of HAPS she presented a workshop on how she uses creative arts and technology with her students in Biology 222 at Hamilton, titled “Using creative arts and technology projects in a human anatomy course: grade choice, equity and giving students tools to decompress.”
