Sheri S. Labovitz K’73 was recently appointed the new president of Second Helpings Atlanta, Inc. Appointed alongside five new board of director members, Labovitz will serve as president from now until December 2019.

Second Helpings Atlanta (SHA) is a non-profit food rescue organization whose mission is “to fight hunger in the 5 county Metropolitan Atlanta area by rescuing surplus food and delivering it to those in need.” The organization is serviced by nearly 400 volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles to drive to a Food Donor’s location and deliver it to a partner agency.

As their new president, Labovitz works to help implement SHA’s new strategic plan by guiding the organization’s growth through new partnerships. She intends to extend its outreach through new partner agencies and more volunteers.
