Muriel Schwinn '13 finished first in the long jump as Hamilton College placed fifth out of six teams at the multi-divisional Colgate University Class of 1932 Invitational at Colgate's Sanford Field House on Jan. 28.

Results

Schwinn posted a mark of 4.82 meters (15 feet, 9.75 inches) in the long jump. She just missed qualifying for the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.53 seconds in the preliminary heats. Schwinn finished seventh, and the top six moved on to the finals.

Sarah Boak '12 was fifth out of 20 athletes in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.17. Sara Scheineson '12 ended up fifth in the 1,000-meter run in 3:19.35, and Glenn Watkins '12 took eighth place in the mile run with a time of 5:32.24. Katie Steates '15 captured sixth place in the high jump with a height of 1.43 meters (4 feet, 8.25 inches).

Division I Colgate won the team title with 140 points and Division II Bloomsburg University was second with 129. Hamilton accumulated 60 points.

The Continentals host the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4.
