101F Fundamentals of Composition I

Readings and writing in a variety of subject areas and disciplines to deepen understanding of Standard American English; to enhance the ability of expression in college-level writings, such as essays, examinations and research papers; to expand vocabulary and increase speed of comprehension and writing in English. (Writing-intensive.) Limited to first-year students.

Maximum enrollment, 12.

102S Fundamentals of Composition II

Writing 102 generally follows the format of 101 and is open to all students whether they have taken 101 or not. Focus on American culture, particularly as seen through film. (Writing-intensive.)
