Mapping Network Drives

Network drives are inaccessible from off-campus unless you are first connected to the Cisco VPN. Once this is done, you can proceed with the below instructions to properly map drives on your computer.

  1. After connecting to VPN, right-click on Network and select Map network drive...Map Drives
  2. Enter the ESS drive you need. You'll need to map each one individually. For example:
    • \\ess\[your department name]
    • \\ess\users\[username]
    • \\ess\campus
  3. Check Reconnect at sign-in.

  4. You will be prompted to login with Hamilton credentials. Click OK when done.

  5. Click Finish. You'll see the new drive mapping under This PC.

  6. On subsequent connections, your drives may have a red "X" superimposed on them. Once you connect to VPN, simply double-click on the drive and the contents will display as expected.
