Meet Our Staff
Aaron Ray
Director
Aaron Ray is the Director of Opportunity Programs at Hamilton College, where he leads efforts to support students in reaching their academic and personal goals. Through programs like ALEX (Advise, Learn, Experience), he ensures students have access to innovative resources for academic success, career preparation, and personal growth. Before joining Hamilton, Aaron served as the Assistant Director of Skidmore College’s Opportunity Program and worked in admissions at Union College, focusing on recruiting students from underrepresented backgrounds. He earned his bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Union College and a master’s in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University. His leadership is inspired by the late John Lewis and his grandmother, Vena Ray, whose stories fuels his passion for empowering students to pursue their dreams. Outside of work, Aaron is all about community, family, and basketball. Whether collaborating with Hamilton’s student-focused initiatives or spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their five pets. In his spare time, you’ll find him no a basketball court getting a run in., Aaron’s energy is dedicated to building meaningful connections. He’s excited to meet new students, learn their stories, and help them succeed at Hamilton and beyond.
