Since arriving at Hamilton in 2016, I have witnessed time and again the unique bond students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and close friends build with this College.

In 2005, to mark the 60th anniversary of the day Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated, the United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 60/7 designating January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The campus has been quiet since final exams ended on December 16, although several dozen students remained in Clinton during the break, and many more returned early to practice and compete with our winter sports teams or to prepare for the arrival of our new Jan students.

Today’s observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a celebration of the civil rights leader’s work to promote racial justice and equality and a reminder of our obligation to help fulfill the dream that he articulated on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963.
