Last year Hamilton College announced its membership in edX.org, an online course provider and learning platform that boasts members from the world's best universities including MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, UT and others. In March 2015, Hamilton launched its first online offerings, one of which features objects from the Wellin Museum's permanent collection. S. Brent Plate, associate professor of religious studies, course entitled Spirituality and Sensuality: Sacred Objects in Religious Life is a seven week course derived from his recent book, A History of Religion in 5 1⁄2 Objects: Bringing the Spiritual to its Senses. If you are interested in participating in the course it is open for registration and one does not have to commit to the entire series of presentations and assignments, as the videos will be available for viewing after the live course has ended.
