Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Regular Program

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is for students from developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts who are applying to a master's degree program in a development-related topic.

 

Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship

Annual fellowship for advanced study of Fine Arts in the U.S. or abroad, to enhance professional standing or to finance a special project. Preference for candidates under 25 years. There are three fellowships of $7,500 each in art, architecture or music; an additional music fellowship for $15,000; and up to three alternate awards of up to $1,000 each.  

King Faisal Foundation Scholarship

Funding opportunity for Muslim students in Medicine, Engineering, and sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Geology) to study at an accredited European or North American university.  

Levitt Social Innovation Fellowship

Provides funding to develop and implement a social innovation venture. The term of the fellowship is for 12 months and for projects implemented in Oneida or Herkimer Counties, N.Y.

 

Mandela Rhodes Scholarships

Up to 14 scholarships offered for disadvantaged South African students to pursue post graduate study in the United Kingdom.

Microsoft Scholarships

Four types of scholarships for undergraduate students interested in computer science and related technical disciplines. One-year award for students attending institutions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. All recipients of a scholarship will be required to complete a salaried summer internship of 12 weeks or more at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington.  

National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate Fellowship

Support graduate students in fields important to national defense needs. This requirement is defined broadly and most prospective graduate students in the sciences and engineering are eligible to apply.  

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Provides support for research based graduate study leading to doctoral degrees in the natural sciences, mathematics, computer sciences, engineering, behavioral and social sciences, and in the history or philosophy of science.

Organization of American States (OAS) Fellowships

For graduate study or research in any field except medical sciences or introductory language study.  

Overseas Research Students Award Scheme

Funding to pay the difference between international student fees and home EU fees for international students at UK institutions.

 

Peace Scholar Dissertation Fellowship

Supports doctoral dissertations that explore the sources and nature of international conflict, and strategies to prevent or end conflict and to sustain peace. Citizens of all countries are eligible, but must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.

 

Rhodes Scholarship*

Provides funding for up to two years of study at Oxford University. Open to U.S. citizens and citizens of other eligible countries who must apply in their home countries even as students studying in the U.S.

UNCF-Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship

Awards are intended to encourage the interest of African American undergraduate students in furthering their science education and pursuing biomedical science careers by providing tuition support and opportunities for research experience in a state-of-the-art industrial laboratory.

 

UNESCO/Keizo Obuchi Fellowship

Young researchers with advanced degrees (M.A., M.Sc. or equivalent) from developing countries majoring in one of four areas: environment, intercultural dialogue, information and communication technologies, and peaceful conflict resolution.

 

United States–South Pacific Scholarship Program

Two special degree study programs for citizens of South Pacific nations and East Timor. Scholarships are awarded for undergraduate degree study. Priority is given to applicants seeking degrees that address national development needs.

 

Winston Foundation for World Peace Fellowships

Supports undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in cooperative security, conflict resolution, and disarmament. Fellows design their own projects, usually involving public education, media outreach, grassroots organizing, or another active approach to issues of cooperative security, nuclear arms control, conventional arms transfers, demilitarization, democracy building, conflict resolution, and the like. Applicants are expected to work full-time with a non-profit organization. A stipend is provided for the duration of the project, which lasts from 2-4 months during the academic year or summer.
