Knowing Our Students

Students come to campus with different backgrounds and expectations, so it makes sense that each student’s transition to college will have different challenges. To that end we encourage faculty and students to engage in conversations and activities that will foster cultural competence. To assist in your task as academic advisor it may help to know something about different students groups to gain some insight into how your conversations may ease their transition.
