Appointed as the Truax Postdoctoral Fellow, Moscarítolo Palacio holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and he received his B.A. and M.A. in philosophy from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Caracas. Moscarítolo Palacio's research and teaching interests include Latin American/Afro-Latinx philosophy (with an emphasis on topics related to race and migration), the indigenous philosophy of the Americas, LGBTQ philosophy, the philosophy of language, and the history of Anglo-American philosophy. He is deeply invested in decolonizing the philosophical canon and he explores ways to bring canonical figures into dialogue with marginalized intellectual traditions. Moscarítolo Palacio is also exploring new ways to bring philosophy to bear on social justice concerns.
