Pat O’Neill earned her bachelor’s degree from California State University at Los Angeles and her master’s degree and doctorate from Northwestern University. She joined the faculty in 1986 and focuses on Victorian and postcolonial literature, film studies and digital humanities. Professor O’Neill is author of Robert Browning and Twentieth-Century Criticism (1995), editor of Olive Schreiner’s 1883 novel Story of an African Farm (2002) and a contributor of essays on globalization and cinema. Recently she created a digital archive promoting the works of Kashmiri-American poet Agha Shahid Ali.
